My Professional Work
Some of my favorite pieces over the years.

Demon Prince, Warhammer 40k
This one was such a labor of love, really dug deep and wanted top improve my overall painting skills with things like; Brush Control, Blending, and overall high contrast colors.
The most enjoyable part for this was the blending on almost every piece of this model, particularly the blending of flesh to bone, then back the ceramite armor.
Really unique concept and something we usually don't get a lot of in painting!
Definitely one of my best works to date, and super sad to see it leave my workshop!

Thousand Sons, Warhammer 40k.
Some really cool miniatures I worked on this year for Nathan, SUCH a fun set. Nathan and I set the bar really high, and also thankfully Nathan gave me the patience to make these really sing.
I've learnt a lot over the years, and definitely the first time I can comfortably say. "Better than the Box Art". Get fucked GW.

Space Marine, Custom Chapter, Warhammer 40k.
This was so much fun, gone are the days where people loved dual tone Space marines, possibly because it was too hard.. if I'm completely honest. however this was such a lovely learning experience.
Ryan came to me with ideas for his custom chapter, and I feel like we hit it out of the park. Really made me appreciate some of the painters in old white dwarf magazines, as I could NOT imagine doing this for an entire army!
(But I would for money :P)

Clicker From The Last Of Us, Bust.
Man how good was the live action show! It really gripped me for a while!
I had a lot of fun painting this, this was leaning slightly into that "Grim Dark" paint style. But only slightly! mainly due to my addiction to colour. Had a lot of fun with this!
I need to paint more bust's for sure.

Demon Warrior, Custom Bust.
This was such a fun bust to paint, no idea where its from just decided to experiment with contrast, new colours, and bright palettes.
Essentially a job I worked up to which made me fall in love with bright high contrast colour, and how it really draws in your eyes.

Fantasy Party, Hero Quest.
I love HERO QUEST. It's where it all started for me!
I uncovered an old copy of Hero Quest in the house I grew up in and fell in love, miniature goblins, models (Toys) that you could paint!
So when Katie came to me with this commission I couldn't say no, She also shared the same passion as me, and loved Hero Quest and held it very near and dear to her heart.
She was such a good sport and gave me all the time in the world, (Maybe too much time :P, Sorry Katie).
But thankfully they are now in their forever home <3

Phantom Rock, Bust/Map Piece.
This project also felt like a fever dream, I was approached by a jeweler by the name of Kelby, He's an Australian with almost like a fanatic love of the Phantom.
I don't know if you remember the "Phantom" but he is like some sort of purple spandex wearing Australian super hero. Kinda weird, but Kelby approached me to paint for his Kickstarter. Being young and just looking for my abilities to grow I said yes.
Unfortunately the Kickstarter did not get funded (R.I.P) https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rqphantommap/phantom-country-a-map-based-on-the-phantom-comic
But in hind sight, that would of ended up being the possibility of 400 hand painted minis. Probs for the best :P.

Shrunken Head, Prop.
I LOVED this little guy, I essentially had it on show in my car for quite a while. I hang it around my rear view mirror and called it "Grandma" really loved this piece.
Blending old pallid brown flesh tones was so much fun, this was also when I first got my Airbrush, so such a fun piece to learn on.

Custom Hero Forge
These were definitely an interesting part in my career, both in finding my feet as an artist, finding out what's a practical amount of money for miniatures. and what realistic expectations are when people don't have experience with painting.
Bit of a funny one but long story short, These were for an NDIS company, where the expectation was that I'd Print & Paint, and then package 33 Minis to 33 individual clients in a 4 week span.
And this wasn't BATCH PAINTING, this was every model was unique, all custom made on hero forge, with the expectation being each model to be painted how the customer designed them. not a SINGLE Contrast Paint used either.
Actually insane, looking back on it I nailed this. I charged $70 per mini, coming in just shy of the $75 Hero Forge's Physical miniatures.
is that practical pricing? Me in my office, against the big dawgs?
No,
Would I do it again, No probably not. But worth the experience and it helped get me where I am today.

Eldar, 40k
Here were some fun Eldar I painted for Anthony, a fun mish mash of tier 1/2 troops to fill out his army.
Some nice old school sculpts too!

Orcs x Miami Dolphins, Blood Bowl.
Shane Really loves his NFL, but prefers it with a bit of fantasy.
I've painted two teams for Shane, this one being a fully 3D printed team, with a lot of character. So much fun to reflect the team in the paint jobs, particularly the goblins and their face plates.
So much fun, thanks a bunch shane!

Goliath Cleric, Custom Dungeons and Dragons.
This was a super fun change of pace from my regular work, this was Nathan's custom DND Goliath Barbarian, so much fun to paint and Nathan was a gem to work with.
Very approachable on schemes, and very open to interpretation and really allowed my creativity to run wild. Particularly with the Tattoos and the OSL coming from the hammer.

The Batman Who Laughs, Bust, DC Comics.
This is Part Two of Santo's gift to a friend. I've always loved this comic book, and it was so much fun to work on. this was pretty early in my career, and really pushed my effort and my WANT, to improve in my painting.
I'm quite known for very poppy colours, and blends, so going some what de-saturated was super hard.
(I re-painted this a lot!)

Terminator, Iron Hands, Warhammer 40k.
Another good commission from Ryan was this banging, Terminator captain for his Iron Hands, totally cobbled together between multiple parts and sprues.
Super cool project, and I love the way the Orange looks on this, really plays nicely with the blue power sword, and Ryan was always super open to the creative aspect of this commission.
So much fun!

Khorne x Green Bay Packers, Bloodbowl.
This was such a fun project Shane really had some wicked ideas. and was such a gem to work with.
Shane loves his blood bowl and loves infusing them with NFL teams, coming with cool schemes like this green bay packers infusion, and I'll be real Khorne look really good in green and gold!
Who would have thought?

Beerus, Bust, Dragon Ball Z.
I've known Santo for a while, and you will never meet a more kinder individual. (Except when he's losing a game of 40k)
This was one part of christmas/birthday present I believe. (It's been a while sorry Santo :P)
This was such a fun project to cut my teeth on, and really helped me get comfortable in doing commissions regularly, so thanks Santo.
Also Beerus fucks.

Black Templars, Warhammer 40K.
These were a fun bunch of dudes, and pretty early on in my career. Daniel really let me go ham on these, and get fully creative with 3D printed bases.
Learnt a lot from this one, and realized that sometimes, customers will let you get creative, and sometimes people just want their models.
Sorry for taking so long Daniel, Lesson learned :P

Chaos Priest Upon Pulpit, Warhammer 40k.
Love this one, always has a special place in my heart. Ross is a guy who will just throw miniatures at me and say "Paint good please" and I am always happy to deliver.
He's a busy guy like myself, and therefore is very patient when I work which is always appreciated. This was such a cool blend of ideas.
So this Pulpit, actually went atop his Chaos Imperial Knight! Such a fun idea, and really loved the flavor he brought to the project.
He was also super understanding when i painted 'From Memory' a Pentagram on the base of the pulpit, which actually turned out to be a Star of David :P.
Made a pretty funny email chain, thanks again Ross!

Ogre, Hero Quest (My First Ever Miniature)
Behold, my first ever mini: the Ogre with an ‘artisanal’ harpoon! This beauty was born in my dad's basement when I stumbled upon the Ogre Hoards expansion and decided to get creative. Armed with nothing but sheer enthusiasm and a bottle of that infamous brown Gorilla Glue (yeah, that one), I made my first attempt at kitbashing.
Young me thought, "Why not give him a harpoon?" So, I grabbed a pair of dull clippers, hacked a harpoon off a troll from the Mines of Moria set, and slapped it on the Ogre’s fist with enough Gorilla Glue to ensure it would survive an apocalypse. The result? A sticky, brown mess and a permanently confused Ogre who has no idea why he’s holding a harpoon, or how.
I keep this masterpiece on display on my portfolio, and my desk as a reminder that we all start somewhere, even if it’s with questionable glue choices and a lot of imagination. If you’re ever feeling down about your own work, just remember: every pro was once a Gorilla Glue enthusiast.
